Charles Darwin, David Attenborough (actually started his career as a geologist!), Iain Stewart (who was my geology lecturer at Uni), and my supervisor. All AMAZING scientists 🙂

My biggest inspiration is my dad though because he works hard at his job every day and never complains, so when I’m feeling lazy I think of him and it makes me want to try a little bit harder.

A lady called Ada Lovelace who was the first ever computer programmer. She lived in the 19th century, a time when it was thought that girls could not be clever or do anything related to maths. She proved them wrong! It is sometimes hard being a girl in computer science as there are about 95% boys. But Ada is my inspiration. I admire other scientists who work really hard too not just at their job but raising awareness of science. People like Darwin, Einstein and more recently Brian Cox.

Also my parents too as they both worked very hard to support me in my education over the years. They would read me lots of science books when I was a kid, and bought me microscopes and did home made chemistry experiments with me on rainy sunday afternoons. Once me and my Dad did an experiment with baking soda and vinegar. We got the amounts wrong and the bottle exploded and it went all over the kitchen ceiling! There is still a small dent in the roof where the bottle hit. Mum went mad! But I understand chemistry better for it!!!!
