      Hi, I think ‘blue’ could be an exaggeration. Apparently, newborn eyes can appear bluish grey at birth because of the levels of a pigment called melanin are low (same pigment that makes you look tanned after you’ve been in the sun). Then the genetics kick in and the level of melanin that builds up determines whether your eyes become green, blue or brown.
