Most people who do research in computer science come from a background in Maths, whereas my student studies were in Biology. Because I was trained as a “proper scientist” I run computer experiments differently to other computer scientists and so my work is often very different. Also the systems I build are inspired by cool stuff in nature which again is a bit different to what other people in computer science do.
