• Question: If a person owns a piece of land do they own it all the way down to the core of the earth?

      I dont think that this has really come up in English Law before, but it is an interesting question! I suspect you own it as far down as you can drill, but I wouldnt like to try for planning permission from the council! Bear in mind that we cant drill all the way down to the core, and the size of the land would be very very tiny!

      Nope, you don;t own the land underneath at all. You don’t own whats called the mineral rights in the UK as far as I’m aware. Good question though!
